Verna Felton
Verna Felton was a highly respected member of the voice acting committee. She first voiced as the Matriarch Elephant on “Dumbo.” She then voiced the Fairy Godmother on “Cinderella,” the Queen of Hearts on “Alice in Wonderland,” Aunt Sarah on “Lady and the Tramp,” Flora on “Sleeping Beauty,” and Winifred on “The Jungle Book.”
FeltonĀ first started out on radio. She voiced on programs such as “The Cinnamon Bear,” “Fibber McGee and Molly,” “The Great Gildersleeve,” and “Tommy Riggs and Betty Lou.” She was also seen on television programs such as “The Dennis Day Show,” “I Love Lucy,” “The Real McCoys,” and “Wagon Train.”
Felton was also highly successful on the big screen, not just with her voice. She’s played as characters such as Agnes on “Girls of the Big House,” Dowager on “Buccaneer’s Girls,” Mrs. August Pennyfeather on “The Gunfighter,” and Cousin Leora on “Don’t Bother To Knock.”
Verna Felton is one of those voices that one can barely forget. She had a strong devotion and integrity to each of her performances, and she is still respected, even today.
