Born Herbert Theodore Bergman, Alan Reed Sr. is a well renowned voice artist. He has provided the voices of characters such as Boris the Russian Wolfhound on “Lady and the Tramp”(my personal favorite obscure Disney character), Big Bill on “Shinbone Alley,” and his most famous role, Fred Flintsone on “The Flintstones.”

Reed has been in a few motion pictures during his career. He’s played in movies such as, “The Postman Always Rings Twice,” “Emergency Wedding,” “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and “The Seniors,” which was a posthumous performance for Reed.

He’s also been on a few television series, not just vocally. Reed has appeared on television programs such as “Your Show Time,” “The Life of Riley,” “Johnny Midnight,” and “Where’s Huddles?”

Alan Reed is an unforgettable actor. He’s a name that not many people would forget, mostly due to the great characters he played. He may have passed away before I was born, but that doesn’t mean I don’t respect him for the actor he was and always will be.
